The ancient office of Compline derives its name from the Latin word for 'completion' (completorium). It is above all a service of quietness and reflection before rest at the end of the day. It is most effective when the ending is indeed an ending, without additions, conversation or noise - in the monastic tradition, those attending leave in silence and go quietly to bed.
I offer this service to you as a few moments of calm and peace among the confusion and anxiety of this time.
"Be still, and know that I am God"
